Placidusax’s Ruin

Whirl, O Flame!

Scouring Black Flame

The Scouring Black Flame spell creates fire over a broad area in front of the user, which can be charged to extend its range. Moreover, it unleashes a sweeping wave of black flame before the caster.

Barrier of Gold

The Barrier of Gold is a defensive Erdtree incantation in Elden Ring that can be obtained by defeating Teardrop Scarabs in the Royal Capital of Leyndell. It is one of the Erdtree Worship incantations and greatly improves magic damage reduction for the caster and their allies nearby.

Vyke’s Dragonbolt

The Flame of the Fell God spell launches a ball of fire that, upon impact, explodes and leaves behind a burning area. The spell can be obtained by defeating Adan, the Thief of Fire.

Dragonmaw

Summons a dragon head that bites enemies in front of the caster. This spell can be bought at the Dragon Communion Altar in the Church of Dragon Communion in Limgrave for 1 Dragon Heart.

Surge, O Flame!

The Surge, O Flame! allows the user to emit a constant flow of fire, burning anything in front of the caster. The incantation can be purchased from Brother Corhyn or Miriel after giving them the Fire Monks’ Prayerbook.

Aspect of the Crucible Tail

The Aspects of the Crucible Tail cause the caster to grow a tail and sweep enemies in front of them. You can get it by defeating the Crucible Knight boss in the Stormhill Evergaol.

Aspect of the Crucible Horns

Manifest a large horn on the player’s shoulder that can then be used to impale enemies. By charging the spell, the caster can run into enemies before delivering a final attack.

Ancient Dragons’ Lightning Strike

The Ancient Dragons’ Lightning Strike spell creates red lightning that deals damage to a target and the surrounding area.

Poison Armament

Buffs the weapon held in the right hand with poison. The incantation can be cast while moving, and it is dropped by an invisible Teardrop Scarab in the northeast section of Aeonia Swamp in eastern Caelid.

Frozen Lightning Spear

The Incantation causes a spear to fall from the sky and move forward, dealing damage and leaving a trail of lightning in its wake. It is dropped by the Dragonkin Soldier of Nokstella.

Black Flame Blade

The Black Flame Blade spell temporarily covers the right-hand weapon in a black flame, increasing the damage dealt. It can be purchased after giving a Godskin Prayerbook to either Brother Corhyn or Miriel.

The Lightning Fortification incantation boosts your protection against lightning damage. You can purchase it from Brother Corhyn for 7,500 Runes after he relocates to the Altus Plateau.

Flame of Frenzy

The Flame of Frenzy incantation creates multiple fiery projectiles that move forward and deal damage. You can find it on a dead body near a pillar on the left side of a church.

Unendurable Frenzy

The Unendurable Frenzy spell involves a sudden release of a yellow flame of frenzy from the eyes. You can find it in a chest within an underground treasure room located in the central section of the ruins.

Erdtree Heal

The Erdtree Heal provides a powerful healing effect for both the caster and their allies. You can discover itin the Queen’s Bedchamber located in Leyndell, the Ashen Capital.

Immutable Shield

The Howl of Shabriri causes madness to build up in enemies close by. It can be found in a chest hidden on the second floor of the Frenzy-Flaming Tower.

Golden Lightning Fortification spell offers a powerful buff that increases lightning resistance for both your character and allies.

Divine Fortification

Divine Fortification spell envelops the caster in strong protective magic, temporarily raising their resistance to Holy Damage.

Poison Mist

Poison Mist spell creates a poisonous cloud in front of the caster, causing the Poison effect to susceptible enemies. It can be acquired by defeating a teleporting Teardrop Scarab southeast of the Castle Morne Rampart site of grace.

Catch Flame

Catch Flame causes a burst of fire to damage enemies within range during battle. It can be purchased from Brother Corhyn at the Roundtable Hold for 600 Runes.

Order Healing

Order Healing spell reduces the accumulation of Death Blight. It can be obtained by defeating a Teardrop Scarab located in the Siofra Aqueduct.

D Tier

These spells are not effective due to their low damage output as compared to other Incantations in Elden Ring. Moreover, they provide limited support and healing. Following are the incantations in the D rank of our Elden Ring incantation tier list 2023.

Honed Bolt

The Honed Bolt tops the D tier. It creates bolts of lightning that strike nearby enemies.

Inescapable Frenzy

Inescapable Frenzy targets an enemy and spreads madness to nearby enemies. The spell causes a yellow flame of frenzy to ignite from the caster’s eyes and attaches to the foes, propagating the madness.

Discus of Light

Discus of Light causes Holy damage to a wide area of enemies. It can be purchased from Brother Corhyn for 11,000 runes after he has relocated to Goldmask’s location at the Altus Plateau.

Lightning Spear

Lightning Spear generates a lightning projectile and launches it forward. The “Gravel Stone Seal” enhances its damage.

Lannseax’s Glaive

Lannseax’s Glaive allows the user to make a sweeping lightning attack. It can be obtained by defeating the Ancient Dragon Lansseax.

Pest Threads

Pest Threads create damaging, sticky threads to attack enemies. It can be purchased from Gowry after advancing Millicent’s questline.

O, Flame!

O, Flame! gives lets the user shoot flames from their palms. The spell can be bought from either Brother Corhyn or Miriel after they receive the Fire Monks’ Prayerbook.

Bestial Vitality

Bestial Vitality is a healing incantation that gradually replenishes the caster’s hit points. It can be obtained as a reward from the Beast Clergyman, after presenting him with the third Deathroot.

Bestial Sling

Bestial Sling rapidly launches a cone of stones in front of the caster. It can be earned as a reward from the Beast Clergyman, after giving him the second Deathroot.

Rejection

Rejection incantation creates a shockwave that repels enemies. It can be purchased from Brother Corhyn at the Roundtable Hold for 1,500 Runes.

Swarm of Flies

The Swarm of Flies unleashes a horde of frenzied bloodflies that pursue their target and cause Hemorrhage. It can be found on a corpse in a shallow cave north of the Palace Approach Ledge-Road Site of Grace.

Shadow Bait

The Incantation creates a shadow to distract enemies and draw attention away from you. It can be found on a corpse in the Subterranean Shunning Grounds.

Black Flame’s Protection

The Black Flame’s Protection spell enhances resistance to physical damage, but it is the weakest among the article. It is available for purchase at the Twin Maiden Husks after defeating Sir Gideon Ofnir.

Comparison Table

Patch Notes V1.09

These patch notes added many bugs/fixes to in-game items and made the following changes to some of the incantations. They were released on 23rd March 2023.

• In PvP only – The Inescapable Frenzy incantation power and grab angle have been increased.
• Fixed a bug where the Roar Medallion Talisman effect didn’t increase the power of some incantations.
